here corresponding angles are equal.

30+y=80

y=50⁰

At E there is a linear pair

80⁰+20⁰+a=180⁰

a=80⁰

a+30⁰+x=180⁰

80+x=150⁰

x=70⁰

Answer:

x = 70 °

y = 50°

Step-by-step explanation:

In line EF,

angle E + angle BEF = 180° (linear pair)

=> angle E + angle GEB + angle GEF = 180° (Since angle BEF = angle GEB + angle GEF)

=> 80° + 20° + GEF = 180°

=> 100° + GEF = 180°

=> GEF = 180 - 100 = 80°

In EFG,

angle GEF + angle G + angle EFG = 180° (Angle Sum Property)

=> 80 + x + 30 =180°

=> 110 + x = 180

=> x = 180 - 110 = 70°

In the figure,

angle GEB + angle GEF = 180 - (angle GFE + angle GFQ) (Co-interior angles)

=> 20 + 80 = 180 - (30 + y)

=> 100 = 180 - 30 - y

=> 100 = 150 - y

=> y = 150 - 100 = 50°
