Since AB is parallel to CD and AD transversal,

the alternate angles are equal .

Hence, x = 42.

Since AC = CE , we have triangle AEC is isoceles triangle.

In triangle AEC,

Sum of interior angles is 180 degrees

y+y+(z-24) = 180

2y+z = 204......(1)

In triangle ACD,

Sum of interior angles is 180 degrees

y+z+42= 180

y+z = 138.......(2)

(2) - (1)

y = 66 degrees

(2) gives

z = 72 degrees
