Let the age of Abbad = x.
Given that Abbad is three years older than Shafaques.
x = y + 3 ---------------- (1)
Given that 6 years ago, Abbads age was four times Shafaques Age.
x - 6 = 4(y - 6)
x - 6 = 4y - 24
x = 4y - 24 + 6
x = 4y - 18 ---------------------------- (2)
Substitute (2) in (1), we get
x = y + 3
4y - 18 = y + 3
4y = y + 3 + 18
4y = y + 21
4y - y = 15
3y = 21
y = 7
Substitute y = 7 in (1), we get
x = y + 3
x = 7 + 3
x = 10.
Therefore the age of Abbad = 10 years.
The age of Shafaques = 7 years.
