Abbot can do some work in 10 days, bill can do it in 20 days and clinton can do it in 40 days. They start working in turns with abbott starting to work on the first day followed by bill on the second day and by clinton on the third day and again by abbot on the fourth day and so on till the work is completed fully. Find the time taken to complete the work fully

Abbot's one day work is equal to 1/10

Bill's one day work is equal to 1/20

Clinton's one day work is equal to 1/40

1/10+1/20+1/40 is equal to the 3 day work

(8+4+2)*5/80=3*5 day

The work which is left  = 1-7/8

= 1/8

1/8-1/10 =  work left =1/40

day = 15+1

Next day is equal to 1/40-1/20

(1/40)/(1/20) = 1/2  

Total day is equal to 16.5 Days
