Given:

Ar(∆ABC) =9cm²

Ar(∆DEF) =16cm²

BC =2.1cm

To Find

Measure of EF

We know that the ratio of areas of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of squares of the corresponding sides.

Ar(∆ABC) / Ar(∆DEF) = (BC)²/(EF)²

9/16 = ( 2.1 )²/ ( EF )²

3/4 = 2.1/EF

EF = 2.8Cm
