Given : ∆ABC ~ ∆ DEF

AB = 5cm and DE = 15 cm

To Find :  if DF = 21, then AC equals

ratio of perimeters of  ∆ABC and  ∆ DEF

if BC= 2cm, then EF equals

AB + BC = 11cm, then find the value of (DE + EF) is

Solution:

∆ABC ~ ∆ DEF

AB/DE = BC/ EF = AC/DF

AB = 5cm and DE = 15 cm

BC/ EF = AC/DF  = 5/15

=>  BC/ EF = AC/DF  =1/3

DF = 21, then AC equals

=> AC/21 = 1/3

=> AC = 7 cm

ratio of perimeters of  ∆ABC and  ∆ DEF  =  AB/DE = BC/ EF = AC/DF

= 1/3

if BC= 2cm, then EF equals

2/EF = 1/3

=> EF  = 6 cm

AB + BC = 11cm

(AB + BC)/(DE + EF)  =  AB/DE = BC/ EF = AC/DF  = 1/3

=> 11/(DE + EF)   = 1/3

=> DE + EF = 33 cm
