Given that,

∆ABC~∆DEF

Therefore,

 \frac{AB}{DE}  =  \frac{BC}{EF}

  • Why BC was put at that place?
  • According to question, ABC and DEF are congruent,so AB and DE are corresponding to each other and are CPCT. Similarly, BC corresponds to EF and is CPCT.

NOTE - CPCT means corresponding parts of congruent triangles.
