ABC is a right triangle, right-angled at B. The hypotenuse AC is 25 cm and the ratio of the lengths of the sides AB and BC is 3:4. Find the length of the side BC.

consider ab=3x, bc=4x

Pythagoras theorem,

25^2=(3x)^2+(4x)^2

625=25x^2

x^2=625/25=25;

so, x^2=25;

then, x=5; ie bc=5cm
