A Triangle ABC ,obtuse angled at C.

To, draw perpendicular from B to AC, Produce segment AC in direction of C to point X.

With the help of compass measure BC, now keep tip of compass on B, and mark arc on segment AX, such that BC=BM, where M is the point on the segment AX cut off from point B.

Draw perpendicular bisector of Segment CM , by opening compass more than half of length of segment CM, and marking arc on both sides of segment CM from both the end points of segment CM that is C and M.

The perpendicular bisector will pass through point B, on one side and Point K on other side.

This is your required perpendicular from B to AC, touching AC externally, at point R.
