ABC is a triangle, right angled at C. If AB = 25 cm and AC = 7 cm, find BC

by pythagoras theorem,
BC*2=25*2-7*2
BC*2=625-49
BC*2=576
BC=24

Since the triangle is Right angled at C, the Hypotenuse is AB.


By applying Pythagoras Theorem,

Hypotenuse² = Side² + Side²

AB² = BC² + AC²


Here, the required value is BC.


Solving,

25² = BC² + 7²

625 = BC² + 49

BC² = 625 - 49

BC² = 576

BC = √576

BC = 24

∴ BC = 24cm
