D,E,F are the midpoints of AB, BC and AC respectively.

$de \: = \frac{1}{2} ac \: = \frac{1}{2} \times 8 = 4cm$

$ef = \frac{1}{2} ab \: = \frac{1}{2} \times 8 = 4cm$

$df = \frac{1}{2} bc = \frac{1}{2} \times 8 = 4cm$

Perimeter of triangle DEF,

= DE + EF + DF

=4 + 4 + 4

=12cm
