Given : ABC is an equilateral triangle each of whose side is 4√3 cm. P,Q and R are mid points of AB.CA and BC respectively.

To Find : the area of triangle PQR

Solution:

Equilateral triangle has each side equal

Area of an equilateral triangle = (√3/4)(side)²

All equilateral triangles are similar to each other

line joining the mid-point of two sides of a triangle is equal to half the length of the third side

PQ = QR = PR  = 4√3/2  = 2√3 cm

Hence ΔPQR is also an equilateral Triangle

Area of ΔPQR = (√3/4)(2√3 )²

= (√3/4)(12)

= 3√3

Area of ΔPQR  is 3√3  cm²
