ABC is an equilateral triangle of side 7cm. If 3 semi circles are drawn on each side of a triangle with the sides of the triangle as diameters, find out the area of the shape so formed.

Area of equilateral triangle =

 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4}  {a}^{2}

a= sides of triangle =7 cm

Area of equilateral triangle =

 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4}  \times  {7}^{2}  = 21.22 {cm}^{2}

Area of semi circle =

  \frac{\pi {r}^{2} }{2}

r=7/2= 3.5cm

=

 \frac{\pi {3.5}^{2} }{2}  = 19.23 \:  {cm}^{2}

Total shaded region, area =( 3xarea of semi circle) + area of equilateral triangle

=( 3 x 19.23) + 21.22 = 57.7 + 21.22

= 78.91 cm²
