ABC is an equilateral triangle. Taking BC is the base construct a right angled triangle equal in area it to the equilateral triangle ABC. (The side used as the base should not be one arm of the right angle)

Draw triangle ABC

BC is the hypotenuse

Now draw a parallel line to BC from point A

Draw a perpendicular from B to meet this parallel line

Mark it as P

Join PC

PBC is the required triangle.
