we know that AB=CA

now in triangles BFC and EBC

angle B=angle C (property of isosceles triangle) .... (1)

side BC = side BC (common) ..... (2)

angle F= angle E (as both are given 90°) ........(3)

by (1) , (2), (3)

it is proven that triangle BFC is congruent to triangle EBC by SAS property.

Hence it is proven that side BF= side EC by congruent part of congruent triangle (CPCT)
