The sum of oblique side + base = 50 cm

base = oblique side + 16 cm

namely

base - oblique side = 16 cm

Solution

I take the difference or increase the sum

50 - 16 = 34 cm

in 34 there is double of oblique side.

divide by 2 and get:

oblique side = = = 17 cm

base = oblique side + 16 cm = 17 + 16 = 33 cm
