According to question

In isosceles triangle

ab = ac = 10
and
bc = 12

Also in rectangle
pq = rs = y
and qr = sp = x
Thus
in triangle abd
ad^2 = 10^2 + 6^2
          = 100 + 36
 ad = root 136
       = 2 root 34
