given- abc is an isosceles triangle right angled at b  
to prove- b square = 2 ac square 
proof- in the given figure 
          ab = bc [given]
          using pythagoras theorem 
          (ab) square + (bc) square = (ac) square
          (ab) square + (ab) square = (ac) square
          2ab square = ac square
          hence proved
