Area of triangle= 1/2 * Base * Height= AB×AC = 1/2 × 5 ×12=30cm

Now, in ΔABC,

Area of triangle ABC= 1/2 ×BC×AD

×BC×AD

⇒30= 1/2×13×AD

AD= 30×2/13

AD= 60 / 13 cm
