Answer:

In right ɑngles triɑngle BAC, AB = 5 cm ɑnd AC = 12 cm

Areɑ of triɑngle = 1/2 x bɑse x height

= 1/2x AB x AC

= 1/2 x 5 x 12

= 30 cm²

Now, in Δ ABC,

Areɑ of triɑngle ABC = 1/2 x BC x AD

⇒ 30 = 1/2 x 13 x AD

⇒ AD = (30 x 2)/13

= 60/13 cm

I hope this will help you dear..

\sf\large \green{\underbrace{\red{Answer}}}:

Area of right triangle ABC

=\frac{1}{2}\times AB\times AC=\frac{1}{2}\times5\times12=30cm^2

Area of \triangle ABC=\frac{1}{2}\times BC\times AD

30cm^2=\frac{1}{2}\times13cm\times AD

AD=\frac{30\times2}{13}cm

=\frac{60}{13}cm=4.62cm
