ABC is a right angled triangle .

< C =90 °

So by pythagorus theorem

AB^2 = AC^2 + BC^2

AB^2 = 5^2 + 13^2

AB^2 = 25 + 144

AB^2 = 169

AB = 13 cm.

your answer is 13cm.

by using pythagoras theorem,

ab^2=ac^2+bc^2

=5^2+12^2

=25+144

=169

ab^2=169

ab =  \sqrt{169}

then

ab=13

thus ab =13cm
