Given : ∆ABC me DE|| BC tatha AD=3 cm, DB=5 cm, AE=6 cm,

To find : EC

Solution:

∆ABC me DE|| BC

a line drawn in a triangle parallel to one side intersect other other two sides in same ratio

Hence   AD/DB =  AE/EC

AD = 3 cm

DB = 5 cm

AE = 6 cm

EC =  x  cm

3/5  = 6 /x

cross multiplying

=> 3 * x = 6 * 5

=> 3x = 30

Dividing both sides by 3

=> x = 10 cm

EC = 10 cm
