Given:

AB=7, (AC-BC) = 1 cm

To find:

(SecC+cotA)

Solution:

1) InΔABC by the Pythagoras theorem

  • AB²+BC²=AC²
  • 7²+x²= (x+1)²
  • 49+ x² = x²+1+2x
  • 2x = 48
  • x = 24
  • BC = 24 cm
  • AC = 1+x = 25 cm

2)According to the question,

  • SecC + CotA
  • AC/BC+ AB/BC
  • 25/24 + 7/24
  • 32/24
  • 4/3
  • 1.33

the value of (SecC+cotA) is 1.33
