Given :- ∆ABC~ ∆XYZ , Ar(ABC) = 16, Ar(XYZ) = 25, AB = 4 then Find XY ?

Solution :-

we know that, when two ∆'s are congruent ,

  • Ratio of area of ∆'s = Ratio of square of their corresponding sides .

given that,

→ ∆ABC ~ ∆XYZ .

so,

→ A(∆ABC) : A(∆XYZ) = AB² : XY²

→ A(∆ABC) / A(∆XYZ) = AB² / XY²

→ 16 / 25 = AB² / XY²

→ 4² / 5² = AB² / DE²

→ AB / XY = 4/5

→ 4/XY = 4/5

→ XY = 5 (Ans.)
