Let BD bisect AC at O

Therefore AO = OC  and OD= OB

Now consider ΔAOD and ΔBOC

AO = OC                      ( Given )

DO= BO                        (Given)

∠AOD = ∠BOC             (Vertically opposite angles )

Therefore

ΔAOD ≅ ΔCOB             (Side - Angle- Side)

Therefore AD= BC          (C.P.C.T)

Hence BC= 12 units
