We know that
angle DAB + angleCBA = 180
3y + 2y - 5 = 180
5y - 5 = 180
5(y-1) = 180
y- 1 = 180 ÷ 5
y -1 = 36
y = 36 + 1
y = 37. ........................(1)

we also know that
angle CBA+ angle DCB = 180
2y - 5 + 3x + 3 = 180
2y + 3x - 2 = 180
2y + 3x = 182

putting the value of y from equation (1)

2(37) + 3x = 182
74 + 3x = 182
3x = 182 -74
3x = 108
x = 108 ÷ 3
x = 36

therefore the value of x is 36
