Method:  

             ⇒ ∠B = ∠D       (∵opposite angles of a kite are equal)

             ⇒  x+12 = 102°

             ⇒ x = 102-12

             ⇒ x = 90

 Also,

         BC = DC                (Given)

            ⇒10 = 3y+1

            ⇒3y = 10-1

            ⇒3y = 9

            ⇒y = 9/3

            ⇒y = 3
