ABCD is a parallelogram and its puts P and Q lie on AB and BC respectively .if area of ABCD is 48cm per square .then find area of triangle DPC and area of triangle AQD

Given:

From fig (1) ∥ gmABCD in which P is a point on AB and Q is a point on BC.

To prove:

Area of ΔCPD= area of ΔAQD.

Proof ΔCPD and ∥ gmABCD are on the same base CD and between the same parallels AB and CD.

ar(ΔCPD)=1/2ar(∥ gmABCD)….(1)

ΔAQD and ∥gmABCD are on the same base AD and between the same parallels AD and BC

ar(ΔAQD)=1/2ar(∥ gmABCD)….(2)

from (1) and (2)

ar(ΔCPD)=ar(ΔAQD)

Hence proved.
