Abcd is a parallelogram and p is any point on the side ad .If the area of the parallelogram is 70cm square ,then find the area of triangle pbc

Answer

We know that a triangle will have half the area of parallelogram if parallelogram and triangle lie on same base and between same parallels

Here triangle PBC and parallelogram ABCD lie on same base BC and between same parallels AD

Therefore 1/2ar of ABCD=ar of PBC which implies,are of triangle=70/2

=45cm^2

We know,

In ||gm ABCD,

ar(∆pbc)=1/2 ar(||gm abcd)

{Same base,BC and b/w the same parallels AD and BC}

Thus,

ar(∆pbc)=70×1/2

=35°
