ABCD is a parallelogram. BF is the height from B to DC and BE is the height from B to AD. If BF= 15.2 cm and DC= 24cm then find: BE, if AD = 16cm.​

DC = 12 cm  

AD = 8 cm

Firstly, we have  

Side DC = 12 cm and the perpendicular height corresponding to this side, BE which is 7.6 cm.  

∴ Area of parallelogram ABCD = DC × BE = 12 × 7.6 = 91.2 cm²  

Now, considering the side AD  which is 8 cm and the corresponding perpendicular height of this side is BF.  

∴ Area = AD × BF

⇒ 91.2 = 8 × BF
