ABCD is a parallelogram. If AB = 200 cm, AD = 130 cm and area of the parallelogram is 2.4 sq. m, calculate :- AE and EB

Area of parralelogram = base × height

Area of parralelogram ABCD = 25 × DE

200 = 25 × DE

DE = 8 cm

Applying pythagoras theorem in triangle ADE

Hypontenuse² = Base² + Perpendicular ²

17² = 8² + AE²

289 = 64 + AE²

AE² = 289 - 64 = 225

AE = √225 = 15 cm

EB = AB - AE = 25 - 15 = 10 cm.
