In the figure BN = 5 cm, DM = 4 cm are altitudes of the corresponding to side AB and AD are respectively. Area of a parallelogram ABCD = Base x Corresponding altitude. ∴ Area of a parallelogram ABCD = AD x BN
= AB x DM AD x 5 = 8 x 4
AD = 32 / 5
AD = 6.4 cm.
