AEFD is drawn on the sides AB and DC
as shown in the figure. AF = 4.5 cm and
DE = 7.5 cm. What is the area of the
parallelogram EBCF?

height=4cm

area of parallelogram ABCD = 24cm²

area of rhombus AEFD= diagonal×diagonal ÷2

=4.5×7.5 ÷2

=16.875cm

Now Area of parallelogram EBCF =AREA PARALLELOGRAM ABCD - AREA OF RHOMBUS AEFD

= 24-16.875

=7.125cm²
