Therefore the area of the quadrilateral is =840 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

ABCD is a quadrilateral in which diagonal AC is equal to 84 cm , DL perpendicular to AC , BM is perpendicular to to AC , DL = 14.2 cm and

BM = 5.8 cm.

The diagonal cuts the quadrilateral into two triangle having the same base AC.

The area of a triangle ==\frac{1}{2}\times base \times height

Therefore the area of the quadrilateral is

= area ofΔ ABC+area of ΔACD

=(\frac{1}{2}\times 84 \times 5.8 + \frac{1}{2}\times 84 \times14.2) cm²

=\frac{1}{2}\times 84 (5.8+14.2) cm²

=840 cm²
