Ar ABCD = 2 × Ar. ABD= 2× 8 = 16 cm ^2

.......( A rectangle is a type of //GM and hence as a property of a / / gm A diagonal devides a //gm into two equal halves )

given: rectangle ABCD with BD as a diagonal. ar(ABD) = 8 cm sq.

to find: ar(ABCD)

solution: given that ar(ABD) = 8 cm, and ∆ABD is half of rectangle ABCD.

so ar(ABCD) = 8×2 = 16 cm sq.
(diagonals of a ||gm divide it into two cong. ∆s.
a rectangle is also a type of || so the same implies here)

hope it helped ☺
