ABCD is a rectangle. Find the value of x and y.

the answer is simple...

∠BAD= 90°

therefore,

∠BAC or y° = 90-∠DAC

                   =90-70

                   =20°

now, since ABCD is a rectangle, therefore its diagonals are of same length.

i.e

7x+2=23

7x=23-1

x=21/7

x=3

therefore,

x=3 & y=20°
