ABCD is a rectangle.
And given that:
AB = x+y = 30
BC= x-y
AD= 14cm
As ABCD is a rectangle then
BC=AD
so,
we can say that
BC = 14 = x-y
so,
we got
x+y = 30 -----(i)
x-y = 14------(ii)
add (i) and (ii)
x+y+x-y = 44
2x =44
x = 22
Hence,
x = 22.
And given that:
AB = x+y = 30
BC= x-y
AD= 14cm
As ABCD is a rectangle then
