we know that opposite sides of rect are equal
so
ab=cd
30=x+y
30-x=y.......... (1)
bc=da
x-y=14
(putting value of y in above eq.)
x-30-x=14
-2x=14-30
-2x=-16
x=16/2
x=8
putting x=8 in eq. 1
we get
30-8=y
22=y
hence value of x=8 & y =22
