In case of a rectangle the length of the two diagonals are always equal, and they both meet at their midpoint.

Thus, AC = BD

or, (1/2) AC = (1/2) BD

or, OA = OD

or, 2x + 4 = 3x + 1

or,  -x = -3

or,  x = 3

Therefore, the value of x is 3.

Answer:

answer is 3

Explanation:

ABCD is a rectangle

OA = 2x+ 4 (given)

OD=3x+1 (given)

AC=DB (diagonals are equal)

2 x OA = 2 x OD

2 x (2x + 4) = 2(3x+1)

4x+8. = 6x+1

-6x + 4x = -8+1

-x = -8+1/2. = -3

-x. = -3

x = 3
