&#9645 \: ABCD \:  is \:  any \:  rectangle

We know that,

The diagonals of the rectangle are equal and bisect each other.

 \mathbf {According  \: to  \: the \:  question,} \\  \implies  \mathbb {3x + 8 = 5x + 4} \\  \implies \:3x - 5x = 4 - 8 \\  \implies - 2x =  - 4 \\  \implies \: x =    \frac{ - 4}{ - 2}  \\  \\\implies \boxed{ \red {\: x = 2}}
