ABCD is a rectangle. Its length and breadth
are respectively 28 cm and 15 cm. Points O and P
are the midpoints of the length. All the shaded
regions are semicircular. Find the difference
between areas of the rectangle and the area of
the shaded portion.

Since the area of rectangle ABCD is

28×15=420 sq. cm

The area of shaded region is

Area of all four shaded region=πr^2/2+πr^2/2+πr^2/2+πr^2/2

Area=4×πr^2/2

Area=4×22/7×(28/4)^2/2

Area=308 sq. cm

Difference=420-308

Hence=112 sq.cm
