area of the shaded region= area of rectangle-area of semicircle
                                         =l*b   -    (pi*r^2)/2
                                        =21*14  -   (pi*7^2)/2
                                        =294  -  (22/7*49)/2
                                        =294  -   22*7/2
                                         =294 - 77
                                          =217 cm^2   answer
perimeter of shaded region = perimeter of rectangle- perimeter of semicircle
                                            =70 -   22
                                             =48 cm  answer
