13cm

given :- ABCD is a rectangle in which..AB = 12cm and BC = 5cm

we know that, all angles of a rectangle is of 90°

so ABC is a right angle triangle..

so by Pythagoras theorem

AB² + BC² = AC²

→ AC² = (12)² + (5)²

→ AC² = 144 + 25

→ AC² = 169

→ AC = √169

→ AC = 13cm

properties of rectangle :-

  • opposite sides are equal and parallel
  • all angle are equal to 90°
  • diagonals are equal and bisect each other
  • area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)
