ABCD is a rhombus, in which the lengths of the diagonals AC and BD are 6 cm and 8 cm. Find the
perimeter of the rhombus ABCD.​

AC and BD are diagonals. diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles. =4*5=20. therefore perimeter of rhombus is 20cm.

length of diagonal AC = 6cm

length of diagonal BD = 8cm

Need to find:

perimeter

Procedure:

area of rhombus = ½ × d1 × d2 ( because it is a special kind of kite )

area = ½ × 6 × 8

area = 24cm²

area of rhombus ( formula 2 ) = side × side ( because it is a special quadrilateral )

FACT: all sides of rhombus are equal.

using fact we know that

s1 × s2 = 24

let the sides be x

x × x = 24

= 24

x = 24

x = 4.89 = 5

perimeter = 5 × 4 = 20cm
