consider the attached diagram,
ΔAOB, ΔCOD
AB=CD, ∠AOB = ∠COD
∵AB║CD    ∴ ∠ABO = ∠CDO & ∠BAO = ∠DCO

hence ΔAOB & ΔCOD are congruent
