Answer:

Area of shaded portion = Area of square − Area of circle −4( Area of a quadrant of a circle)

 = (5 \times 5) - \pi( {2.5})^{2}  - 4 \times  \frac{1}{4}  \times \pi \times  {1}^{2}  \\  \\  = 2.235  \: {cm}^{2}

Area of shaded portion = Area of square − Area of circle − 4( Area of a quadrant of a circle)

= (5×5) − π(2.5)² - 4 × 1/4 × π × 1²

= 25 − 6.25π − π

= 25 − 7.25π

= 25 − ( 7.25 × 3.14 )

= 25 − 22.765

= 2.235cm²
