ABCD is a trapezium in which AB||CD and CE is perpendicular to AB. Also AB=10cm, CD=6cm and BC=5cm. Find the area of the trapezium.

Answer:

height =CE = 4.582 (by pythagoras theorem)

area = 1/2*sum of ll side *height

=1/2*(10+6)*4.582

=1/2*16*4.582

=8*4.582

=36.656
