ABCD is a trapezium of area 91 cm square. CD is parallel to AB and CD is longer than ABby 8 cm. If the distance between AB and CD is 7 cm, find AB and CD.

area of trapezium is 1÷2×(sum of parallel side )×distance between them
so by formula
91=1÷2×(AB+CD)×7
182÷7=AB+CD
26=AB +CD
since CDis longer than AB by 8cm so CD=AB+8 putting it in equation we get
26=2AB+8
2AB=18
AB=9
then CD=9+8=17
