Given:

  • ABCD is cyclic.
  • value of ∠A = (7y - 21)°
  • value of ∠C = (4y + 3)°

To Find: the measure of ∠A?

explanation:

As we know that consecutive angles are supplementary

so,

                      ∠A+∠B = 180°

                      ∠D+∠C = 180°

then, the difference between the angle between A and B will be  equals to zero,

                     ∠A - ∠C = 0

Putting the value of ∠A and ∠C

                   (7y - 21) - (4y + 3) = 0

                         7y - 21 - 4y - 3 = 0

                                       7y - 4y = 24

                                               3y  = 24

                                                 y = \frac{24}{3}

                                                 y = 8

Now, to find the value of ∠A, we will putting the value y = 8, into,

                                               ∠A = 7y - 21

                                               ∠A = 7×8 - 21

                                                ∠A = 35°

Hence the value of ∠A is 35.°
