ABCD is ||gm with side AB= 12cm. it's diagonals AC and BC are of lengths 20 cm and 16 cm respectively. find the area of ||gm ABCD​

Answer:

Area of Parallelogram ABCD=2×ar△ABC

ar△ABC=s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)

s=2a+b+c=216+10+12=19cm

ar△ABC=19(19−16)×(19−10)(19−12)

=169×3×9×7

=59.9cm2

∴ area of parallelogram ABCD=2×59.9=119.8cm2

Now, area of parallelogram ABCD=base X height

119.8=10×h⇒h=11.98cm

∴ Distance between the shortest sides is 11.98cm
